The Eyre Peninsula Mining Alliance is  proudly facilitating a series of Mining Careers Expos during the last week of March 2012.

A recent RESA study on mining workforce demand for the Eyre Peninsula and Whyalla predicts 1,000 new direct mining and construction jobs a year for the next five years, plus a multiplier effect to suppliers, meaning there is the potential for a total increase of 12,000 - 15,000 in the regions workforce.

The Careers Expo will take a travelling roadshow across the Region to promote opportunities for students and job seekers in the resources and related sectors.

"We really want to show the local community what opportunities are available and how to capitalise... we will be providing examples of pathways for students from school to taining, to jobs" - EPMA spokesperson Stephen Marlow.
